Volunteers are lovely but clearly can't cope with large crowds. Advice....eat before you come and bring a bottle of water.

Brilliant ground. Great amenities (bar, food stands, toilets). Lots of seating to watch our Canvey play. Come on Gulls!!

Quite a nice ground to watch football especially the one end that has a raised standing terrace it also unique when you watch cargo container ships sailing down the Thames behind one goal… but it is quite open though, so on a windy day wrap up warm as the wind whistles through you.
Not my comments, but from a Southend fan.. can't fault the pitch, the bar is lovely. Why oh why was there only two people serving??? Bar is easily big enough for 4 staff.in fact I have been before when it was a tiny bar.. 4 staff working service was much quicker. You would have made lots more money if you made full advantage of the big bar. Especially when one member spent ten minutes fighting with the card machine. Dave sufc

History (from Wikipedia)

Ground[edit]

Upon formation, the club played at The Paddocks on Long Road on the island, before moving to Furtherwick School. Following World War II, Canvey Island returned to The Paddocks. In 1955, the club moved a short distance to Poplar Road. Whilst in the Parthenon League, the club moved to Park Lane.[10] It currently has a capacity of 4,100, of which 500 is seated and 827 covered.[1] In the summer of 2018, it was announced that the club would also be hosting the home matches of Benfleet.
