Fairly basic ground, but in a lovely part of the world, on the edge of the little market town of Wimborne. Public transport to Wimborne is limited but it has bus connections to Bournemouth and Poole. The ground is signposted up a small lane next to the Victoria Hospital. There seemed to be plenty of parking. The ground is open on two sides covered on the other two with limited seating. The pitch has a pronounced slope. Clubhouse is accessible to all. Very decent burgers served from a barbecue.

History (from Wikipedia)

Ground[edit]

Wimborne Town play their games at New Cuthbury, 16 Ainsley Road, Wimborne, BH21 2FU A future re-location to the other side of Wimborne Minster is forthcoming within a projected timescale of 5–10 years from 2014. Floodlights, a perimeter wall and new changing rooms were all constructed in 1981.[3] The clubhouse extension was built in 2001 and was opened by local footballing legend Alan Ball. One of the distinguishing features of the ground is a 30 ft vertically inflated character affectionately called Mr. Magpie; the phrase "The Maggies" is also the popular nickname of the club. As at August 2020 the new stadium is being built on the other side of town to Cuthbury, at Saxonbury. A site down Parmiter Drive, off Leigh Road. The builders are Wyatt Homes who have also built approximately 60 homes adjacent to the new Stadium. The new clubhouse is due to be handed over to the club on 1st October 2020. There is a main pitch with floodlights and a practice pitch adjacent. The Stadium , when finished, will conform to FA grading regulations for games at Step 3 [ Southern League Premier] The main pitch is grass. The training pitch is also grass at present but planning permission has been granted for a 3G pitch.
