Loved it. Found myself raving to anyone that might listen, what a lovely set up.
Tried to ensure it didn't come across as patronising or condescending. Apologies if it did. Lovely little club, didn't they do well.
Undoubtedly this has to be one of the best Non-League grounds I have visited and overall would 100% recommend fellow groundhoppers to visit The Meadow. A 15-20 minutes walk from Chesham Station and the journey takes approximately 1 hour to/from King's Cross on the Metropolitan Line.
Traditional was the word that came to mind upon arrival, due to how old fashioned the structure looked and a huge admiration for the natural scenery within the surroundings. There is a shop run by dedicated volunteers at Chesham United who sell football memorabilia on matchdays, predominantly a wide range of programmes and was great to buy 5 for £1. There were also books, pin badges, hats, scarves, shirts and other collectibles on sale.
The match itself was enjoyable as Chesham United won 3-0 against Walton & Hersham. The attendance was approximately over 800, which was very impressive and always is great to see huge crowds at Non-League level!
A good sized non league ground. A main seated area on one side, otherwise terracing at each end and on the far side. Usually a warm welcome at these places and a good standard of football too. Chesham was no exception.
